Creating sculptures came at a later stage. Before that, I worked with what others had discarded.
I recovered forgotten objects and attended to their form, weight and history.
That gesture — giving continuity to what seemed useless — marked my first commitment to matter and to the natural environment.
It was here that a way of looking began to take shape, one that would define my earliest works.

The works you see here belong to an initial phase of experimentation with reclaimed materials.
They are not a final outcome, but the starting point from which the practice began to organise itself and move in new directions.
