What the tide refused to take
This section opens the journey of Archaeologies of the Anthropocene: Fragments of a Wounded Planet. Through materials collected from a small cove on the island, abandoned remains cease to be mere waste and begin to present themselves as physical evidence of our time.
Here, one of the project’s central theses takes material form: waste, slowly absorbed by its surroundings, begins to transform into vestige. The objects on display reveal an altered planetary metabolism, where human debris resists natural integration and persists as active remnants of the present.
