Acier et Béton:

Weight dominates space

After the withdrawal of the object, weight imposes itself again. The fish reappears as a compact, frontal volume, almost architectural. It is neither softened nor disguised. It asserts itself through density.
Steel and concrete do not seek symbol. They present themselves as exposed matter. Structure does not decorate: it sustains. Scale alters the relationship with the spectator’s body.
The sculpture abandons conceptual lightness and recovers physical gravity. It does not persuade. It remains.
At this point I enter into dialogue with Wotruba, Chillida and Moeschal.

The mass asserts itself. Now the territory overwhelms it.
