Struggle and tenacity:
Overflowing emotion and expressive distortion.
Here stability fractures. The form abandons balance and gains intensity. Volume no longer describes; it begins to expose itself. Matter is altered to make visible what had previously remained contained.
The fish tightens, distorts, contracts. It does not seek resemblance; it seeks expression.
At this point I enter into dialogue with the tensions that also traversed Ernst Barlach, Wilhelm Lehmbruck and Käthe Kollwitz.
The form no longer tightens. It breaks apart in order to understand itself.
